Communities

This year's Faculty Learning Community is open to up to 12 UL Lafayette instructors who are assigned to teach in the Spring 2026 semester, in any modality — online, hybrid, or face-to-face.

Each member is expected to participate, attend meetings, and contribute to the core deliverables of the community. The DL Liaison is a representative from the Office of Distance Learning Instructional Support Team who serves as an additional community member and resource.

Teaching with AI: From Ideas to Implementation

Over the course of the academic year, participants will engage in collaborative exploration of effective strategies for teaching with AI.

During the fall semester, members will examine current practices, share ideas, and develop a detailed project proposal that outlines how students will engage meaningfully with AI tools through a new lesson, activity, or assignment. In the spring, participants will pilot their projects in a course of their choosing and, along with their students, take part in an IRB-approved evaluation of the experience.

The community will conclude with participants sharing their outcomes and lessons learned through presentations and materials distributed to the broader campus community, helping advance AI literacy and instructional innovation across the University.
